Issue:

A large co-location and hosting client of ours had a manual intensive server provisioning process and were having a hard time determining where there were inefficiencies and bottle necks in their process.  This was caused by their current task management system that fired off every task required for a server build at the same time, this caused a disconnect between when a task was received and when it could actually be worked on, especially by departments that were at the end of the process. 

Solution:

We are currently automating how their server provisioning tasks are created and at what times they are created in the process.   We are using Symantec Workflow to add a logic engine to their existing task management system.  By doing this we are creating an immediacy and adding a mandate that when a department receives a task that they execute that task immediately.  We are also saving each department time by having to guess when a task is able to be completed.
